Of all the spaces within the home, the Kitchen expresses the owners’ personality and outlook on life most perfectly; for “Everything happens in the kitchen. Life happens in the kitchen." - Andrew Zimmern

A kitchen system is not just a space; it is a collaborative hub for culinary creativity, social interaction, and entertainment. The sleek design, advanced functionality, and versatile features offered by +MODO from Poggenpohl help elevate home gatherings in a seamless blend of innovation and style.

The design of Xtra’s Kitchen Showroom embraces the freedom of expression through the kitchen. Since everyone’s perspective of life is specific to their frame of reference, the combination of the kitchen cabinetry type and its configuration against its surrounding can result in a myriad of identities and styles.

Poggen Pohl and Cesar are top range kitchen cabinetry brands not only because of their quality and fine detailing but they are also highly versatile in type, material selections and configurations.

The juxtaposition of the kitchen cabinetry type, its configuration, materials and colours against its context completes the characterization and personification of the kitchen and its owner.

The curation of each kitchen space with a suggested character and persona not only allows customers to identify with and fully immerse themselves in the kitchen environment, but also showcases the versatility of Poggen Pohl and Cesar products to create varied identities and style to suit different kitchen users.

To enable the curation of diverse kitchen identities over time, we devised a series of floating or suspended planes as backdrops to frame each cabinetry range as a kitchen space. The planes forming the walls, ceilings and floor are applied with different materials to suggest unique contexts for customers to immerse themselves in their dream kitchen. These materials can be refreshed periodically as new range of products and materials are introduced to compliment the various ranges of Poggen Pohl or Cesar products over time, allowing Xtra the freedom to shape kitchen culture with her customers.

Transform kitchen spaces into a canvas of creativity with an inspiring array of options, including Maharam’s Tableau Vivant fabrics that infuse artistry into every corner, and the texture-rich experience offered by Bolon and Ober Surfaces, bringing a delightful tactile dimension to the heart of your home.

The existing space is generally an open plan space with a long shopfront used for showcasing various brands of living and dining furniture. We did not want the customers to be able to visually browse all the products from the outside or at the entrance but instead we wanted to invite the customers to wander and meander through the series of “kitchen rooms” and imagine themselves using these kitchens.
